Our Money Mavens Mission

We’re taking the taboo out of talking money. From recent college grads to entrepreneurial retirees, we’re engaging our clients from all walks of life in holistic, honest financial talk. Our mission is to be a judgement-free community to learn, to share, to be inspired — a community that fosters financial empowerment.

We’re unique in the way we think, the burdens we bear and the opportunities we embrace. At Money Mavens, we’re here to help embolden you to make financial decisions that support you, your family, and your dreams for the future.

MEET OUR FOUNDER | Joanna Nash

I’ve been in financial services for a very long time now. When I first started, I was the quietest voice in the room — Not anymore.

As a financial professional, a single mom of a child with special needs & an aging parent with health challenges — I quickly realized, conventional financial wisdom, just wasn’t quite enough.

It was going to take more than just life insurance, a few months of savings and a 401k to implement a financial plan that would truly give me peace of mind.

I knew I couldn’t be alone. As a result, I have made it my purpose in life to help women map out a plan for their financial future — a plan that serves them, their families, and ultimately their legacies.

Welcome to Money Mavens!

“I was the quietest voice in the room — Not Anymore.”

MEET OUR FINANCIAL PROFESSIONAL | Heather Brame

“I was a teen mother, widow, & college graduate, all before I turned 23.”

I moved to Chattanooga, TN, from Memphis, TN, in 2005, embarking on a journey of personal growth and resilience. By the time I turned 23, I had navigated the complexities of being a teen mother, widow, and college graduate. Earning my Nursing degree marked a turning point where I felt empowered and ready to tackle life's challenges. My nursing career flourished over 10 years as I pursued both a bachelor's and master's degree in the field. I embraced increasing responsibilities within the hospital setting, finding my niche and thriving. However, the onset of COVID-19 transformed the landscape of healthcare, prompting me to seek change.

After months of rejection while applying for remote nursing roles, I discovered an opportunity with Joanna, who needed help with marketing and managing the demands of a modern practice. Reading through the job responsibilities, I realized it was a perfect fit for my skills and aspirations. I took the leap into the marketing role, never expecting to move further.

Close to 15 years in healthcare taught me empathy, respect and understanding all while also learning that what is best for the individual is not always what you think it should be. I think these lessons are perfect for my transition as a fiduciary and competent financial professional.

MEET OUR Licensed Insurance Agent | Julie Hamilton

“helping others confidently navigate their Medicare options.”

I grew up in Ft. Oglethorpe and have proudly called Chattanooga home for most of my life. As a mother of three grown sons, I’ve always been dedicated to building a fulfilling and purposeful life, even through challenges. Following a difficult divorce after 25 years of marriage, I found myself overwhelmed and uncertain about my financial future. Thankfully, with the guidance of Joanna and Heather at Money Mavens, I regained clarity and excitement for what lies ahead. A bit about my journey: As a teen mom, I overcame obstacles to finish high school, earn an academic scholarship, and graduate from UTC with a B.S.N. For over two decades, I’ve been a proud member of the Chattanooga medical community, working in various hospital roles. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I served as a frontline nurse caring for critically ill patients—a demanding period that led to burnout and inspired me to seek a new path. Encouraged by Joanna, I discovered a new passion as a Medicare agent with Money Mavens, where I now use my experience and compassion to guide others through the complexities of Medicare planning. Outside of work, I’m an avid traveler and scuba diver—Costa Rica is one of my favorite destinations—and I love exploring new places. I’m also excited to be part of Tranquility Real Estate Investors (TREI), embracing opportunities for personal and professional growth. In this new chapter, I’m committed to bringing the same care and dedication from my healthcare career into helping others confidently navigate their Medicare options.
