After working at several different hospitals, all with varying plans for retirement, I was in desperate need of consolidation, and Joanna helped me to understand why I needed to move my money, how I would be best served for retirement, and what I could do in the future to maximize my retirement benefit potential. Without her help, my money would still be dwindling due to fees and my own mismanagement. “My retirement planning was a hot mess.”
I never imagined I would be able to retire comfortably and do the activities I wanted to do in my older years. I started my journey into adulthood as a teen mother and then became a young widow. I worked incredibly hard to get myself and my son into a financially stable position. At some point during all of this, I met Joanna through our sons’ friendship. We were both single mothers and just trying to make it. We would take turns keeping kids on snow days and getting them to all their activities. This was the beginning of a great friendship! During this time, I remarried, and she started her financial planning business. My spouse decide that it was time for us to discuss the future and I thought we could never afford to invest in our retirements. I was complaining to Joanna, and I was shocked when she agreed with him! We set up an appointment and started working toward our plan! I know that I can retire now, and I am so incredibly grateful for that.

“I was a teen mother & then a young widow”
As a stay-at-home mom of 2 and the spouse of a recently retired Marine, I was getting concerned about my long-term planning for retirement. I haven’t had an income of my own outside of my small pottery business earnings and therefore have not put much money into a retirement plan for myself. I desperately felt like I needed help to make sure that I have a plan and don’t have to burden my children with my future needs.
